The best car brands in the world have all become status symbols of reliability, innovation and flex. No doubt they’re all better than your attempt at parallel parking.
Fortunately you don’t even need a driver’s licence to read this, so buckle up because we’re the top ten authority and we authorize the below as the 10 best car brands in the world:
10. Lamborghini (Italy)
Nothing screams “mid-life crisis” or “I’ve made it” more than an SVJ with a Gintani exhaust. Lamborghini is one of the best car brands in the world and has us all dreaming of having more money than sense and being able to flex in a Reveulto.
Lamborghini sold its soul when it launched its first ever SUV with the Urus in 2017. In doing so the “Raging Bull” has since roared past 10,000 cars sold annually. Mind you, Toyota sells over 6,000 a day but Lambo’s numbers are impressive for an ultra-luxury manufacturer.
9. Mercedes-Benz (Germany)
What’s the difference between a Mercedes and porcupines? Porcupines have pricks on the outside. The average Mercedes driver is impatient, obnoxious and arrogant. It is a German car manufacturer after all.
As for the car? Well Mercedes-Benz is known for its combination of luxury, sporty and hard performing vehicles. Thank goodness only the casually rich can afford them because their unreliability has been questionable in recent years.
8. Nissan (Japan)
Nissan has done such a good job with their technology, reliability, safety and innovative design that it feels rather generic. An outstanding achievement nonetheless on par with the invention of the flux capacitor.
When it comes to engines there’s only two types Nissan have made available. There’s GTR’s godspeed mode that gets you Back to the Future in second gear, or QASHQAI level speeds which will have you questioning whether you’re moving at all.
7. Honda (Japan)
Honda has been manufacturing cars since 1963 and have been able to find the right balance between design, practicality, and luxury between the Civic, Accord and CR-V range.
As for speed, unless it’s anything but an NSX or a Type R you’ll have more fun watching paint dry. The fact the sixth-generation badass Type R is available only in a manual gearbox set-up is a ballsy move by Honda. Respect.
6. Tesla (USA)
Like a cryptocurrency Tesla has the highest market cap of any car manufacturer in the world by far. The brainchild of Elon Musk, Tesla’s innovation has seen electric vehicle uptake skyrocket globally, unlike SpaceX’s Starship.
If you’re brave enough to own a Tesla it means putting up with a minimalist interior seemingly designed by Marie Kondo and praying that Tesla’s self-driving Autopilot gets you to your destination and not straight into a ditch.
5. BYD (China)
Electric vehicles are taking over the world and it’s BYD taking over electric vehicles. The Chinese EV manufacturer is fast becoming one of the biggest car manufacturers in the world and it’ll keep undercutting rivals to get to the top.
As BYD continues its “avant-garde” approach the EV giants are pushing the boundaries on both impressive design and thrilling performance with dual motor variants pushing some seriously blistering speeds.
4. Ford (USA)
Ford revolutionized the car industry by introducing the moving assembly line in 1913. Fortunately for all, Ford has maintained its commitment to tradition and it’s early success by continually selling classical outdated designs.
The F-Series remains the company’s best seller and the revered Mustang the hero car of the lineup. In true Ford fashion both models bask in the glory of their fuel-guzzling past, but atop of every other model that’s as stylish as a brick.
3. Hyundai/Kia (South Korea)
After some “Seoul-searching” we declared Hyundai (parent company of Kia) to be the third best car brand in the world. On the back of a focus on technology and safety the South Korean giant continues their global charge.
Whether you bought your car legitimately from a Hyundai/Kia dealership or from the “Kia Boys” via a broken steering wheel column, Hyundai and Kia’s have enough gimmicks to be interesting without the need for a second mortgage.
2. Volkswagen (Germany)
Volkswagen was founded by Nazi Germany’s vision to create an affordable car for the nation. Despite the brand’s haunting past they created one of history’s most iconic cars with the VW Beetle which was in production for 65 years.
Despite Volkswagen’s continued scandalous behaviour, cars like the Golf, Polo and Tiguan continue to have us falling in love with the brand. But like any toxic relationship, it’s a matter of time before they cheat on us again.
1. Toyota (Japan)
The washing machine of car brands, Toyota is the best car brand in the world and the choice for most responsible drivers who want nothing but practicality and to get from Point A to Point B. That seems like most people as Toyota sells the most cars worldwide.
As vanilla as a Corolla can be, Toyota has created the best engine of all time in the JZ, and overall the brand is renowned for its reliability and longevity successfully living by the mantra “slow and steady wins the race”.
